In 2011 I initiated and managed a series of five Community Environmental Art Workshops in partnership with the Conservation Council of WA. Each of the workshop series focused on a different environmental art technique/s and was facilitated by a professional WA visual artist. Participants were encouraged to explore their connection with the WA environment as we well as key environmental themes such as climate change and biodiversity loss. The workshops varied from 1 to 2 days and were held at Perth City Farm, bar the last series which was held at Trudi’s Bedfordale studio:
- Walking and Mapping, Ailsa Grieve
- Weaving with Natural, Found and Recycled Materials, Joyce Tasma
- Ephemeral Environmental Art, Elaine Clocherty
- Sculpture Using Recycled Materials, Bronwyn Constance, and
- National Dyeing, Trudi Pollard.

Key Outcomes
- Five successful community environmental art workshop series held
- 72 participants, including 61 metropolitan and 11 regional
- Environmental art skills development
- Professional development of participating artists, including fostering consideration of environment in art making and courage to enter art competitions
- Development of relationships between participants – three of the five workshop participants’ specifically asked to stay in contact with each-other post-workshops
